unable to open database via SSH tunnel

unable to open database via SSH tunnel

Postby mzch » Thu Dec 10, 2009 5:12 pm

I tried to connect to my server using SSH tunnel, however, Stor showed 'Opening database...' and nothing happened.
Have an idea?

My Settings:

Host: localhost
Port: 3306 (leave default)
Uesrname: (mysql user name)

checked 'Use SSH Tunnel'

SSH Host: ssh.hostname
SSH Port: 22 (leave default)
SSH User: (ssh server login name)

I too have this problem, it does nothing if I leave any of the default values. It seems to do something if everything is filled in, but it still doesn't attempt to connect using SSH (nothing in logs, no outbound connection at all?)

I'm using the demo / trial, I can't buy this without this feature working seamlessly. I'd hoped to get it on the MacZot deal today, I guess I'll have to wait until this is fixed and it comes around again... I'm a bit surprised this doesn't work, because of the high quality of Flux and of Stuf.

Any suggestions? I'm using Snow Leopard, and trying to connect to a remote server running OpenSSL (a Gentoo Linux machine).

Thanks,
Antony

You know, I struggled with this for much longer than I'd like to admit. The answer turned out to be that I had to type over the fields for ports 3306 and port 22. I assumed that those defaults didn't need to be typed.

I tried Querious (http://www.araelium.com/querious/) in order to make clear which of my server and Stor there was a problem in. Querious can access my database without problems. I typed over all the fields, however, Stor couldn't get access to my server. :(
